Our Class Structure

Since the physical Schott Center class has been on a break for 2 months, I have forgotten how the class was setup so here is my reminder.

There are four parts to the Figure Drawing Workshop evening.
  • We begin drawing at 7 pm sharp and have short poses to develop a quick eye and express the gesture.
  • Then we have longer poses to allow for a more finished way to develop the eye for composition and more details.
  • Third, at 9 pm, is our Observation where we pin up a drawing to gather ideas from what everybody is doing. By answering the question, "what do Your Eyes SEE?" we formulate and understand the principles of what makes art work and we learn to develop our eye to create better images.
  • Finally, we have a last pose to try some new idea we just got from looking and talking about all the good art pinned up on the wall.
